Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 2:
Texas Instruments Classical Series
From the gilded palaces of Tsarist St. Petersburg to a night under the big top in Moscow, this spring we'll honor one of Russia's most iconic composers. Join internationally acclaimed pianist Peter Donohoe and the DSO for three weekends while we celebrate the complete works for piano and orchestra of Piotr Illych Tchaikovsky. The lyrical beauty in each piece provides the perfect showcase for Donohoe's technical brilliance.
The second weekend of the Tchaikovsky Piano Festival features Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 2. Sir Andrew Davis conducts the performance, which also includes Franck's Symphony in D minor and a world premiere performance of Helios Choros I (Sun God Dances) by composer Augusta Read Thomas.
