Two works of heartbreaking beauty, Richard Strauss' moving tone poem Death and Transfiguration and Elgar's tender Cello Concerto with soloist Ralph Kirshbaum, will be flanked by two brilliantly extroverted orchestral showpieces: Berlioz' swashbuckling Corsaire Overture and Elgar's In the South. Yan Pascal Tortelier conducts.

Please note: Strauss' Death and Transfiguration will be omitted for the Casual Friday performance.
